Our Network Services engineering team is responsible for delivering virtual network services with top-notch performance, first-rate security, fail-safe reliability and exceptional quality.An IBM Cloud Networking SRE Engineer will be the key individual responsible for end to end DevOps/SRE across the orchestration layer. You will be provided the exposure to the production system and involved in realtime troubleshooting of the customer issues. You will mentor junior engineers, working to increase the knowledge and performance of the collective team. You will also be responsible to drive and execute the automation projects which facilitates troubleshooting. In addition, you will interface with senior architects across several locations to understand , implement and execute the system improvement plans.We are a global team, so communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical as well as flexibility to work with team members in other time zones.Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system healthProvide primary operational support and engineering for IBM infrastructureCreate sustainable systems and services through automation and upliftsImprove reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of cloud solutionsProvide support for production escalations and problem resolution for customersProactively identifying issues and improvement opportunitiesDiagnose and resolve complex system, application software, security and related problems that impact system and availabilityGather and analyze metrics from production systems to assist in performance tuning and fault findingPartner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release proceduresUnderstand business needs to define automation requirements and product architectural solutionsDevelop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibilityDefine all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standardsCollaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for automation softwareParticipate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifactsLearn new skills and adopt new practices readily in order to develop innovative and cutting-edge software products that maintain Company's technical leadership position
