Solutions Architect/EngineerThe EquitiesEmbedded CloudTeam is seeking ahands-on Solutions Architect/Engineerthat will be dedicated to building and implementing cloud based solutions for Portfolio Managers. The role will entail working directly with portfolio managers and their teams. Moreover, you will also be interacting with applicationsupport, developersand infrastructure teams by functioning as both a solutions architect, helping them implement their own solutions in the cloud, and as a professional services engineer, implementing solutions for them in GCP/AWS.This is a hands-on, individual contributor role and candidates must have experience deploying and supporting their own production ready code in GCP/AWS as well as automating the build and management of a broad range of cloud infrastructure. Candidates should have experience designing and implementing CI/CD tools with infrastructure as code pipelines, containerization, networking, security, automated configuration and state management, cross system orchestration and monitoring.As a successful candidate, you have a track record of building high-quality enterprise solutions. You are also a person of high integrity, who believes in continuous improvement and not satisfied with status quo.Successful candidates will also have experience interfacing with non-technical business users/clientsand are passionate about working with customers.Principal ResponsibilitiesArchitect, develop and maintain internal cloud platform components, frameworks and offeringsArchitects, develops and guides a team of cloud engineers expected to build and own next gen cloud solutions inGCP/AWSHelp customers architect, develop and maintain their own solutionsFully hands-on but maintains strategic focus and is able to lead by example.Identifies core problems or opportunities within business processes and partners with business leaders to prioritize continuous improvements.Removes bottlenecks to enable your team(s) to work independently. Drives team members to proactively identify gaps and opportunities (e.g., services, workflows, tooling) within or between teams and other parts of the organizationResponsible for the "Build, Test, Deploy" and "Operate & Manage" capabilities within the internal business unit.Responsible for codifying standards and guardrails, packaging, self-service and automation for internal engineering and business teams.Responsible for architecting and developing distributed-compute workloads in AWS/GCP.Desired Qualifications/Skills5+ years of experience developing, and maintaining internal cloud platform components, frameworks and offeringsAssociate/Professional level certifications for GCP and/or AWSExperience in software development with Python, Java, C++, or similar Object-oriented language.Experience in a customer-facing, business-facing, technical role.Experience designing and supporting production cloud environmentsExperience managing global teams and projects with fuzzy scope.Experience partnering with customers to develop public cloud solutionsExperience developing collaboratively, including infrastructure as code, preferably in pythonSystems engineering knowledge, including understanding of Linux, security, and networkingCloud templating tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Cloud Deployment Manager TemplatesCloud Networking including connectivity, routing, DNS, VPCs, proxies, and load balancersCloud Security including IAM, Certificate Management, and Key managementExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skillsSelf-starter able to own projects and execute under tight deadlines and pressure
