This person is coordinating active and pro-active Product Safety cases, organizing the safer board meetings, analyzing potential safer cases and running probability analyses of specific cases.Essential ResponsibilitiesInformation on potential safer cases can come from different sources such as non-conformance reports, RCAs, mails of concern. The Product safety engineer has the task to filter the cases and identify product safety cases, prepare decisions, keep track on actions and organize a monthly board meeting.For delicate cases, a detailed probability/severity analyses must be executed in a specific software. The required skill set is similar to the one needed in DFMEAs or availability analyses.Coaching and/or leading DFMEAs. This task consists in leading an engineering team though a DFMEAs using established templates.Developing a statistical approach to estimate product and later plant availability based on empirical or statistical failure data on individual sub-components.Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor of Science in Engineering or PhysicsFluent in English and at least one other languageAt least 4 years of experience in an engineering capacitySolid background on hydro products and plant arrangementSolid basic knowhow on probability and statisticsDesired CharacteristicsMaster / Bachelor of Science in EngineeringStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsProblem analysis and resolution skillsAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided:Yes
