Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented hands-on Engineering Manager who will manage a development team, working in Secure Web Gateway and Firewall technologies of “Zscaler Internet Access” (ZIA) product. This role requires a good understanding and knowledge of security protocols and services. This is an excellent opportunity to enable and lead a fast-growing engineering team of a massively scalable product that has redefined how Security services are delivered.Responsibilities:Managing a rapidly growing software engineering team of strong individual contributorsManage day to day direction of the development teamEnsuring that all programs are delivered with agreed-upon business value, on time, and highest qualityDriving quality process and trustworthy computing initiatives throughout the product lifecycle to eliminate architecture, design, and coding defects at the sourceEnsuring performance, security, scale, reliability, operational and cost optimization criteria are metCommunicating technical solutions to all levels within-group and cross-discipline. status reporting and presenting solutions is an integral part of the jobEnsure that you maximize the productivity of your team, especially by predicting and resolving obstacles and dependencies before they’re neededSetting up an engineering strategy for the team on technical frontContributing to talent hiring, people skill development, setting objectives and goalsResponsible for weekly status reporting and cross functional engagements, and project updatesQualifications5+ years of managing a team of engineers working in Secure Web Gateway or Firewall.8+ years software development experience in large-scale commercial networking security oriented embedded systems.Experience managing or developing software in one or many of the following technologies, TLS Proxy, HTTP Proxy, Load balancers, IPS/IDS, Routers, Firewall products in multi-threading / multi-core / fault tolerant real-time embedded platforms.Strong in fundamentals - HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, High performance Computing, Event based programming, Fault Tolerance etc.Experience with working cross-functionally like QA, Product Management, and Support.BS/MS degree (Engineering/Computer Science)Desired skills:Experience with FreeBSD based networking solutionsExperience in Cloud based Networking solution is plus.Ability to lead and influence team members to forge consensus on technical discussions including architectural and design guidelines, code reviews, release process, etc.Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both orally and writtenStrong software engineering - design, development and testing, experience.Good understanding of design / architectural patterns and automation platforms.Proven experience on Requirement/Design/Code Review & Inspections practicesGood on Estimation Practices: Effort and ScheduleExperience in Development processes like creating technical and architectural documents and QA processes like designing test plans, functional testing, end to end scenario automation, performance, and security testing.#LI-VN1
