Engineer – Steam Turbine Mechanical Integrity

Job Description SummaryAs a member of the Steam turbine Mechanical Integrity team, you will be an active contributor to the strength and dynamic analysis of steam turbine components for upgrade projects.Job DescriptionYour Role/ResponsibilitiesPerforming strength/dynamic analyses of steam turbine componentsPerforming steam turbine rotordynamic analysesPreparing calculation reports with strength and dynamic calculation resultsWork closely with design team and provide design solutions based on strength/dynamic analysis resultsPreparing presentation materials and participation in Design ReviewsCreating and presenting technical presentation for company customersRequired Qualifications- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent- Basic understanding of Steam turbine design.- Understanding of fundamentals of mechanical design including material properties, statics, strength of materials, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep.- Basic knowledge of strength and dynamic analyses of turbomachinery elements- Basic knowledge of rotordynamic analyses of turbomachinery- Knowledge of Ansys and finite element analysisDesired Characteristics- Strong interpersonal skills and responsive skills- Experience in strength analyses of turbomachinery elements- Experience in dynamic analyses of turbomachinery rotating elements- Experience in rotordynamic analyses of turbomachineryAbout Steam Power:At GE Steam Power, our systems help electrify the world and we arecommittedto building a more sustainable world for everyone.
