The platform also powers company's ML and AI capabilities.A hub of highly talented Big Data engineers and most exciting & upcoming technologies such as HBase, Couchbase, Spark, Structured Streaming, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Java APIs, Scala, Python, Pig, Hive etc, Cornerstone platform offers an environment where Engineers are challenged every day to build world class products.Be part of a fast-paced Agile team, design, develop, test, troubleshoot & optimize solutions created to simplify access to the Amex's Big Data Platform.Responsibilities:As a Big Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and building high performance, and scalable data solutionsYou will be working with a team of very enthusiastic and skilled engineers to drive the product development and adoptionYou will be required to effectively collaborate with product teams from business group and understand the product roadmap and vision and translate that into engineering artifactsYou will work with a variety of teams and individuals, including platform engineers, usecase owners, analytical users to understand their needs and come up with innovative solutionsYou will follow the Amex-way of building engineering products that leads to engineering excellence by adopting DevOps principalsQualifications:Education- Bachelor or Masters' Degree in Computer Science or related fieldExperience working in Agile/SAFe framework for development3 to 5 years of software development experience with proven hands-on experience in Java, Big Data, RDBMS, NoSQL DBs, Spark, Python etc.Hands-on experience on CICD pipelines, Automated test frameworks, DevOps and source code management will be a big plus (XLR, Jenkins, Git, Stash, Jira, Confluence, Splunk etc.)Experience with public cloud technologies such as GCP/AWS and deep understanding of their managed offerings will be a big plus.Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms & design patternsOpensource contributions will be an added advantageExcellent communication and analytical skillsExcellent team-player with ability to work with global teamWe back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
