And we'll do it with the utmost integrity, and in an environment where everyone is seen, heard and feels like they belong.Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together.How will you make an impact in this role?International Consumer Services (ICS) is primarily responsible for the marketing of consumer card products and benefits, and the acquisition of American Express consumers in our international markets.In International Operational Excellence, our ethos is to run an efficient and effective controls framework, building strategic relationships and leveraging these to advocate for us and to add value to the businesses we support.This is a great opportunity to move into the International Operational Excellence team. This is a core and exciting assistant manager role within ICS Operational Excellence team supporting our Proprietary and Partner Card Services organizations across our International Business. The role supports the PRSA program.Purpose of the Role:1) Supporting the development and enhancement of Process Risk Self Assessment (PRSA) portfolio, ensuring relevance to the business by addressing key risks.2) Providing key analytical support to the team for analyzing information, interpreting data and reporting related to PRSAs and wider testing and monitoring3) Ensuring that the PRSAs are relevant to the Business, addressing the key risks the business is exposed to within its processes by having regular interactions and discussions with all stakeholders.4) Being part of a broader testing and monitoring team in ICS Operational Excellence and supporting to ensure adequate 1st line controls and testing.Responsibilities1) Supporting/guiding the Business Process owners to deliver on their PRSA obligations such as the Risk Assessment Questionnaires, PRSA refresh exercises, Control and test assertions and Process Owner certifications on Archer.2) Responsible for end to end reporting for the PRSAs metrics and on the quarterly cycles by reviewing and analyzing Archer reports. Providing analytical support on various of key initiatives like ORE to PRSA linkage by drawing conclusions and recommending controls.3) Strong engagement with other areas of ICS Operational Risk areas, supporting activities like regulatory/audit queries as well as ensuring that the larger team is aware of the core PRSA operational risk program agenda4) Work with the team to ensure minimal/no impact to our Control Rating Metric5) Perform continuous assessment of the PRSAs (controls and tests) to ensure that they are relevant an updated. This may include creating, merging and decommissioning new Control/Tests/PRSAs.6) Work closely with ORGG (Ops Risk Governance Group) and Pillar SMEs to close requirements like Quality Assessment Findings and provide support for completion of numerous other activities driven by ORGG.7) Identifying themes from analysis of Risk Events data, Complaint's data and other significant events touch reports. Applying the findings to ensure recommendations are made to improve the control environment.8) Supporting the development and enhancement of reporting for PRSA and the wider testing & monitoring team9) Partnering with other ICS OE testing and monitoring teams including the BST Team, Smart Monitoring, and other Risk functions to identify opportunities for sustainable closure of control gaps or control weaknesses.10) Strong engagement with other areas of ICS Operational Risk areas, supporting activities like regulatory/audit queries.11) This role covers activity in International markets and consequently interactions will be across a large time zone span and there will be a need on occasion to have time flexibility with some of the meetings that will need to be scheduled.Required Skills:Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships with peers in business unit and central operational risk management group.Strong Excel skills knowledge is mandatory, Tableau is preferable. Excel will be checked at or before interview.Strong team player, and self-motivation with the ability to handle multiple work streams and ad-hoc tasks simultaneouslyExcellent attention to detail and commitment to quality; strong analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, business and customer focused with excellent relationship and organizational skillsGood team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a good sense of humorAbility to tailor a professional communication style to work effectively with individuals at various levels to influence without direct authorityStrong presentation skills, particularly in the development of professional and thoughtful materialsFunctional Skills:Knowledge of Operational Risk Framework, PRSA FrameworkTechnical Skills: Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Macros is mandatory, knowledge of Tableau is preferableKnowledge of Platforms: Archer (essential), Tableau (desirable)Strong Excel skills knowledge is mandatory, Tableau is preferable.
