Seeking a Team Manager to manage a new, highly educated, agile team that provides expert support for editors, authors and reviewers throughout the journal article peer review process. The Team Manager will develop, coach and motivate the team - leveraging their individual skills and subject matter expertise to ensure a high quality, rapid and robust peer review experience. The team works in a dynamic environment where the Team Manager will be required to manage multiple projects while continuing to expand and improve services

What Youll Do:

Manage aspects of the peer review process from submission to final editorial decision using best practice principles and effective time management practices.
Review journal workflows, identifying and implementing changes to improve efficiency.

Manage a team of Editorial Assistants in ethical, efficient journal editorial office management.

To facilitate the creation and maintenance of a team capable of providing the finest peer review experience for authors, reviewers and editors.
To create and maintain a high-performing, cohesive team that leverages individual skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
Develop team members through coaching, feedback, exposure and training.
Ability to handle teams and assist with multiple projects simultaneously

What Youll Need:

Must have proven track record of working with Science, Technology, Engineering, Math/Medicine (STEM) journals or publisher
Masters in a core science is essential a PhD in life science, material science, chemistry, or physics is highly desirable
4-5 years in leadership /management role
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Excel is required
Ability to deal with challenging problems and proactively identifying additional customer support opportunities
Ability to work in an international setting, building and maintaining relationships on both and in-person and remote basis.
Prior knowledge of handling online manuscripts submission and peer review management systems is essential
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively is essential
Ability to independently organize, execute, manage and track all assigned tasks
