Working in Appliances will expose you to the latest container technology as we build our next generation automated appliance support platform. We operate in a fully scaled Agile development environment that gives you complete ownership for the features that you develop. Responsibilities: Design and implement new Veritas Operating System based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux features for Veritas NetBackup Appliances Deliver common component integration with operating system. Automate tests and ensure a high-quality OS Work with the Product architects to take ownership of functional areas within the OS Collaborate with Product Management and other engineering and QA teams Troubleshoot field issues related to functionality, performance and scalability. Verify process activities that ensure that solutions meet business requirements. Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and demos Participate in peer reviews Collaborate with local and offshore co-workers Excellent debug and problem solving either individually or within a team Work with your scrum team to continuously improve processes Requirements: 3 - 5+ years of experience developing software on Linux with one or more scripting languages like Python, shell programming, perl Strong analytical skills and experience as a development engineer Hands on experience with Linux internals, System administration commands, configuration required Exposure to of one or more Linux packaging methods like yum, yum repositories, rpm, apt, required Knowledge of BIOS, FW, Linux system installers, boot loaders is required Exposure to web programming concepts like REST, Java, Golang is a plus Exposure to Ansible is a plus Experience in writing automated functional test cases BE/B Tech./ME/MTech/MCA/MSc or higher degree preferably in Computer Science At Veritas, we care about the causes close to your heart and enable you to volunteer, donate, and do good.
