Support development of material specifications and dairy development plans with the suppliers including post milking practices and the operations ensuring that the suppliers are able to meet on a sustainable basis, the quality levels expected by Abbott Nutrition. The focus of this position is to develop a sustainable milk base to meet AN expectations of quality & quantity. Drive milk quality improvement projects ensuring milk used is compliant to AN global & Indian regulatory norm. Technical assessment of various MIS reports & work on the scope of improvement in the system. Supplier’s selection/evaluation, risk identification & provide technical support Develop, lead and evaluate EVP and co-ordinate the project with external agencies like WAP, TDU, etc. Ensure milk procurement practices as per the Dairy Demonstration Model set up by Abbott. The role involves developing technical liaising externally with related organizations/institutions to become industry influencers on Technical/ regulatory aspects. Dairy-development approach to be based on backward integration with traceability by monitoring feeding, breeding, animal husbandry practices, and adulterants/contaminants. Actively manage and improve supply base technical capabilities, develop and execute risk management programs and drive continuous gross margin improvements for sustained good quality Milk procurement and Quality of milk production. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop & approve milk base at suppliers for sustainable supplies of dairy ingredients. Deploy risk mitigation plans to limit exposure to supply disruptions due to milk quality issues. Develop & implement quality improvement plans to mitigate risks of contaminants in milk BMCs Milk Quality Management- Monitoring & control of Milk quality parameters at supplier base BMCs Operations Management- Smooth operations & correct data management as per SOPs Aflatoxin and Antibiotic Control- Monitoring of AF M1 level in milk. AFM1 not to exceed >0.5 PPb & Antibiotic free milk meeting regulatory norms. Suppliers Milk Shed- Ensure milk quantity with 100% compliance as per AN norm Implement an Animal Welfare program in the milk shed at Dairy ingredients suppliers. Etho-Veterinary medicine (EVM)- Training & Implementation of EVM in animal treatment to reduce the uses of Antibiotics in Animal treatment. Supply continuity- Technical support to ensure uninterrupted/consistent source of supply of quality raw milk at the supplier level. Manage Supplier relationships and technical development Manage the work plan of the consulting organization in Dairy development. Build and operate the Bulk Milk Chilling Centers. Coach and inspire internal and external teams to assure successful alignment and execution of the AN vision. Knowledge of Animal selections, Knowledge in milk quality acceptance norms. HACCP, Experience in the sourcing Antibiotic & Aflatoxin free milk and should be able to find the route cause and take corrective action. Animal welfare and knowledge in using Etho-Veterinary Medicine in animal treatment.
