The Senior Engineer, Data Strategy, is responsible for the independent oversight and applying the latest Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics technologies to challenging problems in the Tax space. With direction from the Director, Data Strategy, and Lead Engineer, this individual must be able to drive the processes of gathering requirements, designing solutions and deploying those solutions with very minimal supervision. Agile or waterfall project management methodologies are utilized, and this individual must be responsible for executing in both. At the same time, this is a hands-on position and this individual is expected to be able to develop code and design analytic workflows to ensure satisfactory project completion. Value Develop workflows and tools that aid in the preparation and blending of data Develop complex machine learning analyses in a greenfield environment Rapidly design and develop data and analytical solutions Accountability on the given projects Guide quality assurance and user acceptance testing Perform peer code reviews when required Provide regular reporting to Lead Engineer and US-based stakeholders Research and define solutions for complicated data problems Serve as a subject matter expert for machine learning and data analytics problems Serve as a valued contributor in meetings, design sessions, and workshops. Ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Computer Science 3 years of full-time experience with Alteryx, Tableau and/or Power BI 4 years of primary experience developing machine learning solutions in Python, Scala or Java 4 years developing with enterprise data technologies (SQL databases, NoSQL solutions, etc.) Skills Knowledge of common deep learning techniques (RNNs, CNNs, LSTM) Exposure to reinforcement learning techniques Command of self-service data analytics tools such as Tableau and Alteryx Fluency in Python and associated machine learning libraries Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Excellent written and verbal English communication skills High attention to detail
