We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to understand/evaluate our current processes, eliminate manual intervention where possible and implement our CI/CD offerings on Microsoft Azure. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes with Develop an understanding of CI/CD Pipelines and Chef to automate and enhance SDLC - Participate in the design of new or changing CI/CD pipelines and Chef automation. - Good experience in Chef Server Administration - like Cluster management, Chef Automate, Performance tuning, Handling Upgrades and Backup, User management and writing cookbooks, Test Kitchen and supporting the Dev teams. - Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure - Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Chef - Solid understanding of administrating Unix based and Linux operating systems. - Proven experience in handling large scale and growing infrastructure across Data Centres and heterogeneous Cloud platforms. - Work with Chef config management/orchestration suite, know where it's broken, work towards fixing them and explore new alternatives - Strong in scripting (Shell Scripting, Ruby, Groovy) - Build, operationalize, and maintain CI/CD solutions for our technology customers - Develop tools/services to enable more efficient/effective response to current build & deployment processes - Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise - Build, maintain, and support enterprise production systems with a business mindset, keeping an eye towards simplicity, reliability, maintainability, scalability, extensibility, performance, and minimum downtime - Understand and deliver on key business objective: Deliver a seamless CI/CD solution on Azure - Partner with development teams to develop operationally sustainable CI/CD solutions - Partner with technical teams to identify, prioritize, and implement operational and production systems improvements - Participate in driving technical and architecture roadmaps, leading the operational aspect, to drive towards maximizing scalability, performance, and Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field (Employer will accept 1 year of related experience for each year missing towards the required four-year bachelor's degree) - 8 years of experience in Configuration management tools like Chef - 8-12 years- experience in Chef & CI/CD technologies - 2 years cloud infrastructure experience in MS Azure - Good experience in Chef Server Administration - like Cluster management, Chef Automate, Performance tuning, Handling Upgrades and Backup, User management and writing cookbooks, Test Kitchen and supporting the Dev teams. - Willingness to innovate, adapt and try new technologies - Experience in modern software version control systems such as GIT and Git lab - Experience with Unix platforms, system administration skills in UNIX - Strong Ability to work with application/development teams to create continuous deployment process - Experience in the following technologies: Ruby, Groovy, Bash, Gradle, ANT, Python - Familiarity with agile and scrum project management - Familiarity with CI Tools/Orchestrators (Codefresh, Artifactory, Jenkins, Chef/Puppet, Sonar, Kubernetes, HashiCorp Vault, Azure Devops) (ref:hirist.com)
