Release Coordinator
responsible for planning and controlling the deployments of new release on various client's environment through a release schedule with use of appropriate tools/ technologies. Establish and maintain the release management procedures for successful deployments across product groups across all environments with support of teams across various geographies
Responsibilities:
Prepare client specific deployment artefacts from base engineering release.
• Working Knowledge on client specific web/ mobility / Cognos packages and coordinate with IT to deploy it on
the various client environments
• Able to identify issues / Gaps in the build tool and provide feedback to engineering
team
• Work and effectively use various automation tools and provide feedback from time to time to
enhance the tools
• Help to automate and improve the deployment artefacts process and build tool
• Able to write simple and basic DB queries to retrieve client specific information to create
deployment artefacts.
• Maintain version control of artefacts in central Software repository
• Verify the prepared artefacts using automated utility to ensure correctness of artefacts
• Verify application and deployment logs and perform post deployment configurations if any
• Prepare deployment instruction/ checklist document for every deployment activity
• Monitor the deployment calendar and ensure to provide the deployment artefacts for every
deployment in timely manner
• Monitor new changes in each release and ensure the build tools/ automation tools are compatible
with each release
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
o Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in an IT-related discipline
• Minimum Work Experience (years):
o 2-3 years
• Key Skills and Competencies:
o Good understanding of version control systems, scripting language, application
architecture/ database / web servers/ application servers etc.
o Basic understanding of various IT Infrastructure activities like Virtual servers, hosting,
middleware, DBA activities etc.
o Should be aware of SDLC and sound knowledge in Software Deployment / Release
Management activities
o Excellent troubleshooting skills, Excellent communication & documentation skills,
planning skills
