The Lubrizol Corporation Job Description Title: Regulatory Toxicologist, India Department: Product Safety & Compliance Location: Mumbai, India Reports to: Regional Manager, Product Safety & Compliance, EMEAI Summary of Responsibilities: As a Regulatory Toxicologist, you will help generate data to substantiate the safety of products globally – by performing regulatory toxicology assessments, interpreting global requirements and ensuring our products are safe and our product claims are valid, prior to product launch. This position requires knowledge of toxicology principles and involves application of Lubrizol chemistry knowledge to the requirements of evolving global chemical control laws and product safety assessments. Essential Job Functions: Support a team of toxicologists in overseeing human, environmental, and physical chemical testing projects with 3rd party laboratories including assessment of new data to meet regulatory reporting obligations Help organize, analyze and interpret test results in preparation for submission to regulatory agencies globally Contribute to the development and execution of product defense strategies using toxicology, chemistry, and other scientific disciplines Effectively present technical and regulatory information to both internal and external audiences Monitors regulatory and toxicology communications, databases, and state of the science for issues of relevance to PSCD and the business. Communicates issues to supervisor and product stewardship organization and/or businesses Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements: Minimum 5 to 10-year experience with Master’s /Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Industrial or Environmental Health Sciences, or related biological science discipline with an emphasis in Toxicology Proven expertise in applying technical and regulatory knowledge to regulatory toxicology and product risk assessment and broad knowledge of related regulatory fields Basic understanding of toxicology principles/practices and the scientific basis for toxicity testing Thorough knowledge of relevant and available hazard and risk data on purchased raw materials, manufactured components, and products placed into commerce and internal/external product compliance management systems and databases Strong Interest in learning how to design, monitor and interpret data from human health and environmental toxicology testing programs to evaluate and assess risks Strong interest in learning regulatory and data requirements for global new chemical notification dossiers as well as regulatory initiatives including EU REACH Excellent verbal and writing communication skills Success Competencies: Open Communication Collaboration Problem Solving Ability Drive for Result Global Perspective Customer Focus While headquartered in the United States, Lubrizol is truly a global specialty chemical company.
