In this role, you will own the Release Management lifecycle including planning, scoping, scheduling, committing, and managing software releases and appliances. Releases will include any or all of the following: • New application or operating system features • Incremental enhancements • Security updates • Support for new hardware or upgrades to existing hardware • Patches or emergency releases Responsibilities: • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders in the Development, Test and Release life cycles, including Engineering, Architecture, Product Management, QA, Documentation, etc. • Drive to achieve high-quality releases that meet or exceed expectations – on-time, and within budget. • Proactively manage dependencies and risks • Resolve issues • Escalate judiciously to direct executive attention where it is most urgently needed • Measure and monitor progress based on appropriate metrics • Conduct reviews and checkpoints as required • Regularly communicate status in various forums and formats • Identify, suggest, and implement improvements to release management processes, agile methodology, and engineering practices Qualifications • BS Computer Science or related field • 6+ years of previous release and/or project management experience • 2-4 years development experience • Intimate understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodology & best practices • Effective leadership skills • Excellent written & verbal communication skills At Veritas, we care about the causes close to your heart and enable you to volunteer, donate, and do good.
