We work to raise privacy awareness, drive compliance with both internal privacy policies and regulatory expectations across the organization and establish privacy as a strategic differentiator for the American Express brand.As a second line of defense function, Global Privacy oversee, provide expertise in, and challenge the identification, management, and mitigation of privacy risks across the company in line with the privacy framework and the company's vision to provide the world's best customer experience every day.This position is based in Gurgaon, India, and reports to Director, Global Privacy ProgramCore Responsibilities include:The Manager, Privacy Risk Assessment and Technology Solutions will be responsible for designing privacy risk assessments based on regulatory requirements and industry standards and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define business needs and implement technology solutions. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills and a keen interest in data protection and privacy.Key Responsibilities: Strategy: Business Owner for the privacy risk assessment setting the vision, strategy, and priorities.Privacy Expertise: Stay ahead of privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards globally. Monitor external privacy landscape and internal company changes (e.g., business strategies, operations) for impact to privacy risk assessments.Business Requirements: Collaborate with privacy subject matter experts, business teams, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to collect and document requirements, define system specifications, and develop scalable and efficient solutions.Technology Solutions: Work with Product Owners (e.g. Archer, Process Unity, BAYA) on technology needs and solutions based on specific business needs, regulatory requirements, and industry standard processes.Technology Coordination: Monitor performance and reliability of technology solutions supporting privacy risk assessments and work with Product Owners on remediating defects and implementing efficiencies.Governance: Develop guidance documents, job aids and visual process flows to support users on how to use the assessment tools effectively. Respond to examinations and audit requests related to the privacy risk assessment design and execution.Training: Develop and deliver training to users on privacy risk assessment content and use of the tools/technology.Minimum Qualifications:3 or more years process engineering/process management experienceExperience in risk and control design and implementation.Skilled at communicating sophisticated concepts to operational users.Ability to clearly translate business use cases into technical development for product owners.Track record of successful oversight and monitoring of technical platforms in production.Ability to define policies and procedures, develop and deliver training, and maintain effective communication strategies.
