Profile Description
We're seeking someone to join our team as (Vice President) JAVA lead in the Delta One Structured Products IT group. This is a global middle-office team that supports the global OTC Equity Swap Portfolio, Single Name, and Index derivative businesses. This is an exciting role for a self-starter who has a thirst for new challenges as well as new technologies.
Institutional Securities_Technology
Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST's 'clients' include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.
ESTAR
Develops trading & Analytics platform for IST, structured OTC Trading, Market Making & risk platform
for IED
The Sub Department- Equity Swaps Technology is responsible for the technology solutions required by the hugely successful global Equity Swaps business, supporting OTC Delta One Structured Products including Equity Swap Portfolio, Single Name and Index derivatives businesses. A wide variety of technologies are in use, including UI, server side, a variety of relational database and document stores and several messaging solutions. High volumes and large datasets are the normal and systems are designed to be able to both process current volumes, but also scale horizontally. With significantly increasing trading volumes and a healthy backlog of features, EST are looking to expand their global team to support a number of development programmes.

What you'll do in the role:
Leading projects / initiatives front-to-back from planning, designing, architecting to implementation and go-live.
Building high-quality technology solutions for distributed server-side components.
Re-architecting core components with modern architecture focusing on high availability, resiliency, and scalability.
Liaise with stakeholders and global team members, fostering an inclusive and positive working environment in the team.
What you'll bring to the role:
Required Skills:
3-5 years of experience in leading development initiatives / projects
Strong application design and object-oriented skills
Strong fundamentals of domain/event/message driven architecture and REST services
Hands on experience with modern distributed technologies such as messaging brokers (e.g. Apache Kafka) and distributed caching solutions (e.g. Hazelcast)
Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and experience with RDBMS providers like Sybase, MSSQL, etc.
At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this roleAdditionally, involvement in the global support rota, participation in the architecture documentation and review process etc. is important.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the delivery of initiatives / projects.
The candidate should possess good analytical skills, strong software engineering skills, a logical approach to problem solving, be able to work in a fast-paced environment liaising with demanding stakeholders to understand complex requirements and be able to prioritize work under pressure with minimal supervision
Good problem solving and analytical skills with strong knowledge of Data Structures/Algorithms
Experience with agile development principles, methodologies, and DevOps adoption of CI/CD/CM.
Desired Skills:
Experience with scripting (Python) and the Linux platform.
Experience with Web Technologies (Angular / React).
Experience with database performance tuning.
