Key Tasks M&A Development of any integration plan in line with the strategic aims of the integration and budget reflecting the strategic and financial goals and risks Own the due diligence and execution of M&A integration, liaising with the Business leads as appropriate. See through post acquisition of all integration. Strategy Development Strategy Contribute to the strategic direction of the People function by undertaking appropriate diagnostic work. Facilitate effective implementation of new People initiatives in designated areas as appropriate Ensure the alignment of people strategies with existing company policies and procedures, and update as required Ensure any strategic changes / implementation of a people cycle is cascaded to all areas of the business and the relevant training is received on new ways of working Oversee and manage ad-hoc projects across departments where required Meeting the Business Need Relationship Building Build successful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders Develop strong networks across the UK/Ireland and Global/European stakeholders Build working relationships with Unions and Workers Councils to facilitate a collaborative working practice Drive engagement in own within HR and the wider business as a true engagement advocate Meeting the business need Ensure ability to respond in a timely way to HR demands Establish a good understanding of the business environment, across the regions Undertake specific project work as required (e.g. Change Projects) Act as key point of contact for leveraging new HR related European or Corporate initiatives across the business Be active in social, cultural and educational projects which reflect the beliefs and values of the business Line Management Support Where required provide line management and clear direction to payroll and admins teams Including line management reviews, feedback, development and engagement Stay ahead of all legal matters relating to internal and external reporting compliance Ensure by direction that teams work in the most effective way Resourcing Provide recruitment advice to all departments as required Ensure agreed recruitment processes are followed Liaise closely with UK resourcing team on all recruitment matters Personally support the successful appointment for all senior functional vacancies Operational Advice & Support Develop an appropriate SLA for individual departments on the level and standard of day to day support required Maintain up to date knowledge of the legislative framework Provide support to line managers during the full people cycle incl the annual performance review, PDPs, training etc ER Advice Work closely with Line Managers on all ER issues that arise within your area and the wider business as required, Ensuring all ER matters are managed appropriately Provide advice and support on all ER issues within the UKI business as appropriate and ensure correct application of HR policies Support the promotion of a culture of performance, change orientation and improvement Where appropriate, challenge existing ways of working to ensure all staff align with the Company policy and the preferred way of working Assist in the review of performance management processes across each function and implement agreed action plans where required People Metrics Collate and report on all People metrics as required (eg absence, turnover, etc) Own the people costs for your area ensuring budget compliance and report monthly on the metrics Caliber & Leadership Development Identify training needs Ensure an effective training needs analysis process is in place for all staff Liaise with managers and Business Partners to ensure effective training and development plans in place for individuals and teams Develop appropriate actions to ensure these are integrated into individual performance reviews Leadership Development Monitor and co-ordinate the local People processes to ensure a consistent approach and timetable is aligned to the annual people cycle Review gaps in leadership capability with senior management and develop action plans accordingly People Management People Team Work in partnership with all Business Partners sharing best practice and ways of working Work with other business partners and team members in delivering projects as and when required ensuring the key deliverables are met within the specified timelines Work in partnership with the Recruitment manager in helping to onboard the right person, at the right level, at the right cost Provide coaching and mentoring support as required Essential requirements for the role Education CIPD qualified (full or part qualified) (desirable) Graduate or equivalent (desirable) Educated to A level, HND or equivalent (essential) Experience Experience with M&A and TUPE Experience with payroll [managing of] Experience delivering commercially sensitive and business aligned People solutions to a demanding customer base Experience working in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, ideally supporting a global, corporate organization Experience in a senior People management or related role Experience managing large Change Management or large scale HR re-organisations Experience managing a broad range of training and development interventions Experience in coaching and mentoring individuals and management teams Knowledge of project management principles Ability to manage complex HR priorities over different sites within the UKI To be able to travel to the other sites on a regular basis with the possibility of overnight stays Key competencies Good listener, with the ability to
