Additional Work Location(s) ?????: Job Description Position Summary: A core technical person who will be part of integrated global team in Harman, behind the premium navigation engine that power some of the most luxurious automotive brand names and is currently installed in millions of vehicles. You will be working on complex solutions for various navigation components, which are running on Harman navigation solution. The ideal candidate will have good analytical and problem solving skills, knowledge of engineering discipline, and preferably experience in Navigation domain Supervisory Responsibilities: No Job Responsibilities: System Performance & Optimization Engineer : A SPOT engineer is responsible of fine tuning the performance and memory for all Harman infotainment solutions on different platforms (QNX/Linux/Android). He/She must have a good understanding of the design and architecture principles and must verify and ensure each module in the system makes use of the same. A SPOT must follow organization recommended process and practices while performing his job. Reporting of the analysis and recommendation to the respective domain and ensuring the closure of the issue also will be the responsibility of the SPOT engineer. Basic Qualifications: Sound Operating system knowledge (Linux/QNX Kernel, Scheduler etc) Experience with memory profiling and CPU profiling Experience with GDB or similar Experience in core dump analysis know-how of Kernel panics/oops Good understanding of multithreading & Synchronization object concepts Good understanding of Design principles, Design patterns and Architectural patterns Good analytical and debugging skills Good understanding of C/C++ Good inter-personal skills / Presentation skills Good problem solving skills Sound knowledge of UML diagrams and tools Leadership : Demonstrate character, clarity, courage and commitment to high-performance Build environment of trust, high performance and engagement by establishing clear goals and a commitment to feedback, development and recognition Change Orientation: Champion a better, faster and simpler way of doing things Apply original thinking and continuous improvement to processes, products, systems or services and manage change to better serve customer needs Collaboration: Connect, engage and communicate with others Encourage open expression of ideas; communicate effectively at all levels and build strong relationships Judgment: Make sound decisions Demonstrate critical thinking to take appropriate risk and make sound and timely decisions Results-Driven: Deliver extraordinary results Take initiative to achieve superior, quality results against internal or external standards of excellence Eligibility Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 20% Willingness to work in an office located in Bangalore, India.
