FMA Senior/Lead Data Engineer, Content Infrastructure and Digital Transformation, Content Engineering FactSet Market Aggregates is looking for a talented senior engineer to join our team and help us continue developing the product and achieve our strategic goals. FMA is a content provider of index/benchmark level financial data. We currently do this through an on-prem SQL column store called Vertica, running aggregation and analytics on security constituents collected from various FactSet sources like benchmarks, pricing, estimates and fundamentals. We also maintain client-facing FDBs for most of our content that are accessed via the traditional means of FQL and Screening. We are looking for a senior engineer that is independent, passionate about learning new technologies and can steer us in the right direction as we investigate various Cloud infrastructures, redesign the product into a service and build new products and features. Key responsibilities: Design, develop and deploy new features/products to clients. Improve existing processes and reduce technical debt. Develop high performing solutions to enhance the overall client experience. Take ownership of projects and work on bug fixes and enhancements. Effectively communicate with stakeholders on project scope and timelines. Take up on-call responsibilities within the team. Required skills: Advanced knowledge of at least one distributed, massively parallel columnar database - Vertica, AWS Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, Apache Druid, MS Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Azure Synapse). Ability to translate business requirements into data warehouse design (ETL, schema, query design). Hands-on experience working with large scale datasets. Practical knowledge of working with SQL and NoSQL databases. Self-starter with a willingness to learn new technologies and languages. Good problem-solving skills. Desired skills: Familiarity with at least one high level language (e.g. Python, Perl, R, Scala, C#, C++, etc). Experience creating a REST API. Knowledge/experience with performance-tuning databases and queries. Familiarity with one or more cloud-based ETL tools - AWS Glue, Matillion, Stitch. Eligibility Criteria: Minimum total experience should be 5-8 years in Software Engineering/ Data Engineering. Should have a Bachelor's degree in Computing, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics.
