Global Markets Group is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley's Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across IED ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, strats to risk management.

Primary Responsibilities

The Morgan Stanley Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) group within IED, creates rules-based investment strategies that provide our clients with a wide range of exposures.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with at least 1-2 years of experience to join the StratLabs Data team in Mumbai. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Global StratLabs team, working on data engineering, data pipeline development & other innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities
Quants :statistical analysis
math modelling (optimization methods)
python programming
financial analysis (portfolio management technique, derivatives)

IT data engineering :ETL process (extract, transform, load processes)
data storage and processing
big data technologies
data pipeline development
data quality

UI/UX/Info graphic :wireframing and prototyping
visual and interaction design
information architecture (structuring and organizing content)
infographic creation

Skills required (essential)

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in data science or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Statistics/Computer Science/Math/Engineering or related fields.
Strong proficiency in Python, Pandas, and Numpy.
Strong interest and demonstrated experience in data science and quantitative domains.
Comfortable with UNIX/Linux.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience working in a cross-functional teams, bridging technical & design perspectives.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Drive and desire to work in an intense team-oriented environment.

In addition, below knowledge is not critical but useful for the role.
Familiarity with equity or fixed income markets / financial market awareness a plus
Knowledge of KDB/Q
Experience with visualization and dashboards
