The 'SBS Card Cross-Sell & Engagement Analytics'team is part of the Analytics, Investment and Marketing enablement (AIM) group within GCS (Global Commercial Services) Marketing at American Express. This team is responsible for leading innovative analytics across Marketing channels for the US SME segment to drive internal acquisitions with increased and sustainable engagement levels.
The analyst will be responsible for performing strategic analyses, build frameworks, synthesizing conclusions, and communicating recommendations to partners. S/he will be responsible for building key decision frameworks aimed at driving robust targeting and investment optimization. The ideal candidate is able to drive strategic decision making and execute new strategies via advanced analytics, disciplined test & learn, effective story-telling and partnerships. The position is part of a highly collaborative environment, and the Analyst will partner closely with functional (channel specific) analytics and Finance teams based out of NY.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Responsibilities
Partner closely with Finance and US Consumer to align on the Cardmember value (CMV) framework to ensure consistency across BU (US Consumer Services)
Collaborate with finance to create robust behavioral inputs for investment optimization
Understand the cardmember value framework for internal acquisitions and independently drive enhancements and optimizations on the same
Partner with channel owners in the NY team to drive enhancements via levers such asOrchestra and establishing paths to primacy through test and learn to optimize channel ROI
Exceptional execution skills – be able to resolve issues, identify opportunities, and define success metrics and make things happen.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong analytical/conceptual thinking acumen to solve business problems and articulate key findings to senior leaders/stakeholders in a succinct and concise manner
Ability to project-manage effectively and manage several concurrent projects through collaboration across teams.

Expertise in Hive, Python, PySpark, SQL encompassing data manipulation and statistical modeling/data-mining techniques and Microsoft Excel & Power point.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to build and retain strong working relationships
Demonstrated ability to work independently and across a matrix organization partnering with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver solutions at top speed
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Economics) or business field preferred
